Your Facial Powder - Tara Durotoye

Powders are considered to be the icing on the cake for a flawless foundation finish. It is used as the finishing touch to a complete makeover. Powder sets the makeup and keeps it looking fresh; also   preventing shine. It should be used sparingly; otherwise skin looks dry and unnatural. Look for powders that offer skincare benefits. The newest type will self adjust to oil and moisture or hydrate the skin with water based technology.

Pressed Powder: Compact and concentrated, or pressed powders can be used alone to even out and smoothen skin and to matte shine. When used over foundation, it adds a smooth finish. Pressed powders come in compact form, making touch-ups easy anywhere.

Loose Powder: Lighter in texture than the pressed powder, loose powder leaves a more natural finish but is a bit messy to work with. Apply with a large powder brush and shake excess powder off the brush then “dust” your skin using the lightest possible strokes.
