World's Largest Fried Egg

World's Largest Fried Egg

An ostrich is a bird specie that lays the biggest egg of all birds.

Hens, probably one of the most common edible birds, lay eggs that cook for 4 minutes and they’re quite small, compared to ostrich eggs.

Just imagine how long it would take for and ostrich egg to cook. I’m sure you’re probably wondering, well, it takes 40 minutes to fully boil!

How about frying it, like sunny side up?

The shell is extremely hard; you need a hammer or chisel to break it.

I wouldn’t want to wait that long for breakfast to get ready, especially on an empty stomach, when I can just whip up a hen egg, and toast some bread in 15 minutes.

An ostrich egg is equivalent to 22-24 hen eggs and can feed up to 12 people. It weighs 3-5 – 5 pounds.

Its high in protein, calcium, iron and potassium.
